Squishmallows compared: micro plush to 50 cm giants

Squishmallows are plush toys with a squishy name: a stuffed body you hug, not a hollow shell you press in one hand. The five listings below run from a pack of three 2.5-inch micro plush to two 50 cm Pokémon characters. We tested each against its own text, separating what the title states, what the features add and where the dimensions line disagrees.

Squishmallows compared: micro plush to 50 cm giants

In short

  • Five plush: a pack of three 2.5-inch micros, a 7.5-inch bat, a 30 cm character and two Pokémon at about 50 cm.
  • Sheena and the Micromallows pack mention an official seal; Melofee names a Pokémon licence; Ankur's features are two barcodes.
  • On three of the five, the dimensions line does not match the title, so the size in the title is the one kept here.
  • Only one listing states an age, 2+ on Chansey. Whatever you buy, read the age grade and the UKCA or CE marking on the pack.

The 5 models in detail

1
Squishmallows Halloween Micromallows bouquet

Squishmallows Halloween Micromallows bouquet

Three detachable micro plush of 2.5 inches each, named as Apple the Bat, Aranya the Spider and Metta the Cat. The listing says to play with them or display them, and mentions an official seal.

  • Three named characters in one pack
  • The smallest size in this page, stated in the features
  • Halloween theme, so it suits a seasonal shelf best
  • The 20.3 x 25.4 cm dimensions cannot be the plush: they read as the pack
2
Squishmallows Original Sheena bat, 7.5 inch

Squishmallows Original Sheena bat, 7.5 inch

Sheena is a light pink bat with glitter wings, listed at 7.5 inches in the Original range. The features give her a name and a bio, as a Halloween trick-or-treater, and call the product official.

  • Name and bio stated, as the listing says each plush has
  • Listed 19 cm matches the 7.5 inches of the title
  • No age grade in the listed features
  • Seasonal character, less at home outside October
3
Squishmallows 30 cm Ankur plush

Squishmallows 30 cm Ankur plush

A 30 cm plush named Ankur, sold under the Jazwares brand with the product code SQCR05421 in the title. The listed features hold two barcodes and no description, so the title carries every fact.

  • 30 cm stated in the title
  • Product code in the title helps to match the box on arrival
  • No written description in the features
  • Listed 10 x 5 x 1.3 cm is nowhere near a 30 cm plush
4
Pokémon Squishmallows Melofee, 50 cm

Pokémon Squishmallows Melofee, 50 cm

A pink Melofee, sold in English as Clefairy, stated at 50 cm in the title. The text claims an official Pokémon licence and an ultra-soft texture unlike other plush.

  • 50 cm in the title and in the features
  • Licence wording is explicit
  • Character spelled three ways in the text, Melofee, melofairy and Melo fairy
  • A promise that it does not deform when handled is the seller’s, not ours
5
Pokémon Squishmallows Chansey, 50 cm

Pokémon Squishmallows Chansey, 50 cm

A pink and white Chansey of approximately 50 cm, with the egg and the smile written into the features. The title states 2+ years, and the weight is listed at 1,720 g.

  • The only listing here that states an age: 2+
  • Weight listed, 1,720 g
  • 50 cm in the title but 54 x 57 cm in the dimensions line
  • No licence line or seal in the features, just “official toy” in the title

A plush with a squishy name

A squishy is pressed in one hand and has a foam, rubber, silicone or gel body. A Squishmallow is a stuffed plush: a soft cover over a filling, held, hugged or displayed. The five listings call the texture “ultrasoft”, which is plush language, and none promises a slow rebound.

Why a squishy site lists plush

The two get mixed up in search results, so the difference belongs on the page. For the pressable kind, what is a squishy explains the families, and jumbo squishies covers the big hollow ones.

Five sizes on one ladder

We lined the five up by the size each title states, then checked whether the rest of the listing agrees.

Palm, hand, lap, armful

The micro plush are palm-sized, Sheena fits a hand, Ankur sits on a lap and the two Pokémon fill both arms. Weight follows: Ankur is listed at 480 g and Chansey at 1,720 g, values from the listings that we did not weigh.

“Official” is a word on a listing, not proof

  • Sheena and the Micromallows pack both say “official Squishmallows product: look for the official seal”. A seal is something you look for on the toy or its tag; the listing cannot show it.
  • Melofee states an official Pokémon licence in capitals. Chansey calls itself an “official toy” in the title and gives no licence line.
  • Jazwares is named in Sheena’s title and as the brand of Ankur, whose features hold nothing but two barcodes.
  • The pack and Sheena both point to extension ranges under the brand: FuzzAMallows, HugMees and Stackables, and Mystery Squad for the pack.

Seller wording tells you what the seller claims. What you can check is the tag and the packaging on arrival, and, on a marketplace, who sells and who ships the order. Our safety guide lists the same checks for squishies.

When the dimensions line contradicts the title

A plush 30 cm high cannot measure 10 x 5 x 1.3 cm. That row, for Ankur, reads like a default or a flat pack. The title is the figure we keep, and the same rule settles the others.

LotTitle saysDimensions line saysWhat we keep
Micromallows pack2.5 inches per plush20.3 x 11.5 x 25.4 cmThe title; the line reads like the pack
Ankur30 cm10.0 x 5.0 x 1.3 cmThe title
ChanseyAbout 50 cm54.0 x 31.0 x 57.0 cmTitle and features, “approximately 50 cm tall”
Melofee50 cm50.0 x 38.1 x 55.7 cmTitle and features, “50 cm”

A listing written in translation

The Melofee text reads like a translation: the character appears as Melofee, melofairy and Melo fairy, and Clefairy only in the title. It does not change what the plush is, but it is a reason to match the character name on the pack.

Age and marking on a plush

Read the label that arrives, not only the listing

One listing of the five gives an age: Chansey, 2+ years, in its title. For the other four, the age grade is on the packaging or the tag. Toys sold in Great Britain carry UKCA or CE marking, and the pack should show the manufacturer’s or importer’s address.

Checks borrowed from the squishy warnings

  • Age grade on the pack, matched to the person who will hold it.
  • UKCA or CE marking and a manufacturer or importer address. The Stiftung Warentest notes that CE marking alone is not a guarantee.
  • A chemical or petrol-like smell on opening: the Dutch authority NVWA tested squishies after reports of exactly that.

None of this is a verdict on the brand. The warnings quoted on this site concern squishies with foam or gel bodies, and none of the five listings describes a gel, a liquid or beads.

Claims we noted and left alone

  • Melofee: the text says the plush is made to “not deform even when handled”. It is a durability promise from the seller and we have not repeated it as a fact.
  • Chansey: the features pitch it as a “bedtime buddy or cosy decoration”. That is positioning; the age on the pack is what counts.
  • Sheena: “ultrasoft, high-quality material” is the only description of the fabric, with no material named.
  • Ankur: no claim at all, since the features are barcodes, which at least leaves nothing to discount.

Frequently asked questions

Are Squishmallows squishies?

No. They are stuffed plush toys. A squishy has a foam, rubber, silicone or gel body that you press, while the shared name is a brand name. Both appear on this site so that the difference is clear.

Does every Squishmallow have a name?

Sheena’s listing says each one comes with a unique name and bio, and the Micromallows pack names its three characters. Ankur’s listing, by contrast, offers only a code.

How big is a “large” Squishmallow?

The word depends on the shop. In these listings the sizes are 2.5 inches, 7.5 inches, 30 cm and about 50 cm, so the centimetre or inch figure in the title is the one to read.

Can a plush be warmed in a microwave?

No. The microwave warnings from the DGCCRF and a Glasgow children’s hospital concern squishies, but no listing here suggests heating a plush, and we would not try it.

Are the Pokémon plush part of the Original range?

The listings do not say. Sheena and the Micromallows pack mention Original Squishmallows; Melofee states a Pokémon licence, and Chansey names no range.

Which size suits a gift for a child?

The age grade on the pack decides, not the size. Only Chansey states an age in its listing, 2+; for the others, the packaging is the source.
